  • We have loved staying in the cottage! What an amazing experience! We usually go on loads of trips when we are down here but this weekend we wanted to make the most of this gorgeous cottage and there has been a lot of lolling around, enjoying the harbour view and bustle and just enjoying it!!

  • At a lovely, quirky cottage, full of history and restored beautifully. It couldn't have been placed better, especially for crabbing! Loved it!

  • Our stay at the Hoss was everything we hoped it would be, fabulous house with super comfy beds, amazing facilities, very modern in such a historical building. It was such fun to wash our clothes in the outhouse! Then there's the views and location, in the absolute centre of picturesque Mevagissey, the port right there, I could have sat in the window just watching the world go by. Beware, this town, this harbour, this house will have a serious effect on you and you will be forever wanting to go back. If I could give this place a million stars I would! What an absolute privilege! Thank you!

Places to visit: Mevagissey museum - outstanding! Aquarium was lovely (both free or visit by donation), a 5 pound harbour cruise, just walk the streets and eat the icecream!! Walk around to the beach (it's a hike but worth it) and definitely leave your car in the top car park!

The absolute best part of our UK holiday!

  • beautiful house, full of character and right in the middle of all the pubs and restaurants. The little terrace is a great place to sit and watch the world go by, great chats with the locals and fellow holidaymakers! Cannot fault it would recommend it in a heartbeat, 10 out of 10

We were lucky to have fantastic weather for the whole week, which I'm sure helped to make our holiday such a success, but we just loved our time at The Sea Hoss. My Mum came to stay with us and although she found the stairs hard-going and the high stools difficult to climb onto (she is in her 80s with a bad knee!) she absolutely loved the cottage too and ever since her return home keeps reiterating how perfect it all was. She would either join us on the little patio or sit in a comfy chair in the day room looking out of the window. The cottage had every comfort you could wish for and we were all mesmerised by the beautiful view out of every window (I was particularly taken with the view from the bath, day and night). We didn't see as much of Cornwall as we had planned to see as we couldn't tear ourselves away from Mevagissey. We enjoyed watching the comings and goings of the fishing boats and tourist trips and although it was often very busy during the day it was always remarkably peaceful at night. You do get woken early by the fishing boats etc, but you really don't mind when you can lie in bed and watch everything happening in the harbour. We took the ferry to Fowey for the day too which was great but we were glad to be back in Mevagissey in the evening away from the crowds. Can't wait to return, possibly in the depths of winter next time as the cottage would be really cosy on a winter's evening ......

  • Have just has the most wonderful weekend in Mevagissey staying at The Sea Hoss. It was a joy to visit Mevagissey, its a wonderful place where you feel completely relaxed straight away. You could not wish for a better location than The Sea Hoss, it is literally on the harbour and there are stunning views from every room in the house. The property itself has everything you could possibly need from your stay,. We were welcomed with a lovely Cornish Hamper (the cider is a must) The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need to cook the fish you have watched the fishermen bring into the harbour (including the cookery books if you are like me and need them!!) There is a little terrace next to the house which is roped of and in the outhouse the owners have a couple of small benches that you can use. Its not the biggest space but there is plenty of room to have a drink and watch the world go by which is just lovely. It seemed that in every room in the house you would find a subtle decoration which is in keeping with the history of the house which was wonderful. Fully recommend this property for a fabulous holiday.

  • We were two couples living in SeaHoss for two weeks right on the edge of a working fishing harbor. It's restoration was extremely well done maintaining the historical term but with all the modern furnishings for comfort. The views out the windows of every room perfect for my photos and my wife's paintings, constantly changing through the day.The kitchen was very well equipped to allow us to prepare fresh fish dinners right from the fish stalls at the harbor. Mevagissey has a ton of charm and the SeaHoss was in the perfect place to enjoy it all. Carrie is a super owner to work with. Prior to our arrival she was very responsive in answering questions with a genuine interest in us having a good experience- which we did- "in spades".
